Brief: Andrew Jackson needed to re-develop and design the previous site we had worked together to create a few years ago. Although the previous website worked well at the time it also limited the client with the way he could manage the website. The design of the site also needed to be refreshed and be more flexible for both the user and the client to use.
Deliverables: Bespoke Content Managed flash website
Approach: It was important for Andrew to be able to add new stories and projects to his website, while also having the ability to archive previous stories and projects. To help Andrew Jackson promote his services we decided that he needed a blog and news section for him to update regularly with exhibitions, new projects and other relevant items.
The design of the site is completely different to the previous design and is more flexible in displaying images. As the images Andrew produces are strong, powerful, emotional we needed to be able to make them feel as dynamic and dramatic as possible. We used the images as the main focus of the site and decided to conceal the navigation and keep it simple. Use of subtle colour throughout the site and a white background to help the images stand out. The user can interact with the site through changing the slideshow speed, decide on their preferred route to view the projects and stories, read information about projects and leave comments on the blog.
